Environmental Health Officer – Pollution Team
Bradford | £60 per hour (Umbrella) | Interim Contract

A Local Authority in Bradford is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer (EHO) to join its Pollution Team on an interim basis. This is a varied role with a strong focus on environmental permitting, regulatory inspections, and supporting ongoing investigations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with and develop the inspection programme for environmentally permitted processes (LA-IPPC Part A2 and Part B operations).
  • Update and maintain the Council’s website for environmental permits.
  • Create, upload, and manage the Public Register.
  • Support the delivery of an ongoing investigation into odour from P Waddington and Co. (1947) Ltd, working closely with senior managers.
  • Contribute to the wider requirements of the Pollution Team, including site inspections and regulatory duties.
Requirements
  • Minimum 12 months’ experience carrying out Environmental Health Officer duties (including training placements).
  • Strong knowledge of environmental permitting and pollution control.
  • Evidence of effective public engagement, with the ability to communicate fluently and confidently with members of the public (meeting the Advanced threshold level under Special Knowledge).
  • Willingness and ability to undertake site visits and inspections across Bradford (some tasks may be completed remotely).
