Carmichael UK are seeking an Environmental Advisor to join a leading Tier 1 contractor on a major infrastructure project in London. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in driving environmental performance, compliance, and innovation on one of the capital’s flagship construction schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the achievement of environmental objectives in line with company policy and industry best practice.
  • Develop and review key environmental documentation, including Environmental Management Plans, Site Waste Management Plans, and Dewatering Management Plans.
  • Deliver environmental briefings, toolbox talks, and training to raise awareness across the workforce and supply chain.
  • Monitor site activities, ensuring compliance with Works Information, internal standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Assist in audits, inspections, incident investigations, and sustainability reporting.
  • Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and customer requirements throughout the project team.
  • Accurately track and report environmental performance using tools such as SmartWaste and internal trackers.
Skills & Experience
  • Degree or Masters in a relevant discipline (all considered).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Proactive, analytical, and results-driven, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the construction industry.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office.
  • Right to work in the UK & Ireland.
Desirable
  • IEMA membership or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of environmental and health & safety legislation.
  • Previous environmental experience within construction.
  • CSCS Card
