Overview

We\'re recruiting an Enterprise Risk and Assurance Analyst to strengthen our risk management capabilities. This role will play a key part in ensuring we maintain robust systems of assurance as we deliver on our Fit for the Future plan and prepare for the next stage of pooling reform. If you\'re passionate about risk management and want to contribute to the success of a leading UK pension pool, we\'d like to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and support the firm\'s enterprise risk management framework, including maintaining risk registers, monitoring controls, and preparing reports.
  • Assist in the design, development, and embedding of risk policies, procedures, and assurance frameworks across the business.
  • Identify, assess, and quantify operational and enterprise risk scenarios, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic, and business focused risk advice with appropriate guidance from the Enterprise Risk Manager.
  • Produce accurate and timely risk reports, analysis, and presentations for senior stakeholders, including the senior leadership team and risk and audit committee.
  • Support the operation of the firm\'s assurance frameworks, including contributing evidence and input for internal and external audits and regulatory reporting where required.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across functions to promote a strong risk culture and ensure risk management is embedded in decision making.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with auditors, assurance providers, system suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical and complex risk matters in a clear, concise, and relevant way for different audiences.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, regulatory expectations, and best practice to support continuous improvement of the risk function.
  • Actively participate in professional development, ensuring knowledge of accounting, finance, investments, pensions, and risk management remains current.
Qualifications
  • Strong reasoning and problem solving skills, able to develop pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
  • Able to communicate complex and technical risk matters in a way that is clear, relevant, and understandable to different audiences.
  • Good report writing and presentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organised and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines under time pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and sound judgement.
  • Understanding of risk governance frameworks in asset management and how to implement them.
  • Knowledge of the three lines of defence model and how it applies in practice.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and quantify operational and enterprise risks.
  • Active commitment to continuous professional development, with an up to date understanding of accounting, finance, investments, and pensions. Degree qualified (or equivalent experience).
  • Associated risk management practitioner qualifications/certifications (preferred).
  • Experience in asset management and/or wider financial services sector (preferred).
