Overview

A Vacancy at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking an Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (ECP) with a Graduate Certificate or a PG Certification to join the ENT (ear, nose and throat) team within the Head and Neck directorate at University Hospitals Dorset.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose patients in the Same Day Emergency Care unit.
  • Support the management of ENT inpatients and provide outpatient aural care.
  • Support other head and neck clinics as required.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams, patients and their relatives to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
  • Undergo specialist ENT training and clinical supervision to achieve competency sign-off in skills such as epistaxis management, incision and drainage of peritonsillar abscess, manipulation of nasal fractures, and ear examination and treatment.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (ECP) with a Graduate Certificate or PG Certification qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
Location and Travel

Base location: Poole Hospital. This post will be cross-site working with potential relocation of Head and Neck Ward and Head and Neck SDEC to the Bournemouth site in 2026. The post holder will also work in Poole, supportingHead and neck outpatient clinics and ENT minor elective surgery patients.

Additional Details
  • Interview Date: TBC
  • There is a planned move for this service anticipated during January 2026; excess mileage allowance/reimbursement will not apply after relocation. Travel between home and work base will be classified as a commute.
