Hours: 8:30 -3:30 Monday to Friday

Salary: £864.80 per week

About The Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate English Teacher who is ready to make a positive impact on the pupils in one of our highly rated Secondary schools in the Swansea area! This is your chance to work in a school with an experienced department and strong leadership team – this position includes teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, whilst strengthening their literacy, analytical thinking and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high quality lessons in line with the Welsh Curriculum
  • Teach novels, plays, poetry, and non-fiction texts, while developing students’ grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Encourage critical thinking and discussion – facilitate class discussions and debates to develop communication and interpretation skills.
  • Prepare students for GSCE English and help them to develop their knowledge.
  • Create a safe and engaging classroom environment.
  • Support learners of mixed abilities and differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs.
Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS (children only) on the update service or willing to obtain.
  • EWC registration.
  • Safeguarding (children and young people).
  • 24 months of references (factual, characteristics and for childcare).
  • NQT or FQT qualifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English or related field.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level in the UK.
  • UK driving license (preferred)
