Job Title: English Teacher

Location: Belmont Secondary School, Rawtenstall, BB4 6RX

Salary: up to £38,000 per annum dependant on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

Start date: October

About the role

Working under the guidance of the Senior Leadership Team and in line with school policies, you'll deliver high-quality English teaching tailored to the needs of individual learners or small groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English lessons aligned with the school's curriculum
• Teach individual students or small groups in a supportive learning environment
• Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and adapt strategies to ensure success
• Develop and implement individual education and behaviour plans in collaboration with colleagues
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives aligned with the School Development Plan
• Ensure classroom organisation and resources promote effective and stimulating learning
• Take responsibility for English subject development across relevant key stages
• Maintain a safe learning environment, adhering to risk assessments on and off site
• Promote the educational, social, and moral development of students in line with the school's ethos

Qualifications & Requirements

• A degree in English
• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or PGCE
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students of all abilities
• Experience of planning and delivering lessons that meet diverse learning needs
• A commitment to upholding the Teachers\' Standards and contributing to whole-school development
