Lecturer in English

  • Hourly Rate: £28-£30 per hour including holiday Pay

  • Job Type: Temporary Ongoing

Reed FE are working with a College in Walsall andare seeking a temporary English Lecturer to join the team. This role involves developing courses and materials that cater to the needs of the students, using a variety of teaching and learning strategies to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver inspiring and motivating teaching that meets the needs of all students.
  • Use initial assessments to inform planning and delivery of teaching and learning.
  • Prepare comprehensive schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment plans.
  • Ensure teaching materials and methods reflect best practices and contribute to high-quality provision.
  • Deliver and integrate maths, English, ICT, and employability skills into the curriculum.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and feedback, preparing students for various assessments.
  • Maintain high expectations for all students and set challenging learning targets.
  • Use inclusive teaching strategies that reflect the diversity of learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and delivering teaching in further education or a similar environment.
  • Proven knowledge of subject area and delivery of English, Maths, and Functional Skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly effective organisational skills.
  • Qualified Teaching Qualification (e.g., DTLLS, Cert. Ed, PGCE) or a commitment to work towards one.
  • GCSE A* - C in English and Maths (Grades 9 – 4) or equivalent.
