Engineering Technician (Dairy) – Severnside

Position: Permanent contract (4 on 4 off – 2 days & 2 nights, 7‑7). Location: Severnside Dairy.

The Engineering Technician will provide safe, front‑line reactive maintenance and drive continuous improvement of site assets and equipment, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective handover of information across shifts.
  • Use PMS to support prioritisation and problem‑solving (RCFA).
  • Diagnose faults and test, repair and maintain mechanical/electrical equipment.
  • Observe, recognise and report machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure; provide CMMS data.
  • Contact OEMs and suppliers for technical support and expedite parts when not available on site.
  • Lead shift‑based problem‑solving where corrective actions aren’t clear.
  • Work as ONE TEAM with First Line Response Technician and coach operators with asset‑care tasks.
  • Identify and implement improvements; raise life‑cycle issues with recommendations.
  • Use and support simple 5WHY/OE techniques and RCA techniques through to 100‑year fix.
  • Use and support departmental 5S programmes for workshops and stores.
Key Qualifications
  • Recognised apprenticeship.
  • Experience within maintenance/manufacturing industry.
  • Mechanical/electrical biased experience.
  • ONS/HNC qualification.
  • IOSH / NEBOSH qualification.
Desirable Skills
  • Electrical qualification.
  • Multiskilled engineer experience.
