Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference in young people's lives? We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Mechanical Engineering Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across our BTEC and T Level Engineering programmes. The successful candidate will bring strong subject expertise, practical industry experience, and a genuine passion for inspiring the next generation of engineers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons for BTEC and T Level Engineering courses.
  • Teach a variety of units, including health and safety, Engineering Product Design & Manufacture, Applied Commercial & Quality Principles in Engineering, Calculus for Engineering Problem Solving, Mechanical Behaviour of Non-Metallic Materials and their Properties, Quality Management in Engineering, Engineering Projects, and practical workshop skills.
  • Support students in developing both theoretical understanding and practical technical skills.
  • Track student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, and contribute to internal and external assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to uphold high standards and meet curriculum and awarding‑body requirements.
  • Keep up to date with current industry practices and evolving qualification standards.
Essential

  • Teaching qualification (or working towards a full teaching qualification)
  • Teaching experience (or professional work experience)
  • Experience of teaching the specified subject(s) or course(s)
  • Commitment to active and student‑centred learning
