Job description

Job Advert: Maintenance Technician (Multi‑Skilled)

Location: Banbury
Type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: Up to £52,924 per annum
Working Hours: Wednesday - Saturday

The Role

You'll play a key part in ensuring equipment availability across production processes, carrying out planned preventative maintenance and providing timely responses to breakdowns. This is a hands‑on role where you'll be involved in fault finding, diagnostics, and implementing long‑term solutions, all while maintaining the highest standards of health & safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively, delivering both immediate and sustainable solutions.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across site equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with equipment users to understand issues and deliver practical solutions.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Complete clear handover notes and reports.
  • Undertake risk assessments and issue permits to work when required.
About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • ONC (or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering, plus apprenticeship completion.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a secondary mechanical/electrical discipline.
  • Experience in a maintenance department, ideally within food manufacturing or processing.
  • Knowledge of PLCs (preferably Siemens).
  • Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and procedures (COSHH, working at heights, confined spaces).
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • A team player attitude, effective communication skills, and computer literacy (Excel, maintenance software).
  • Desirable: 17th Edition Certificate or equivalent.
