Engineering Manager

Location: Bishop’s Stortford, Hertforshire

Salary: £70-75,000 + Benefits

Permanent, full-time contract.

Engineering Manager Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate a team of engineers and contractors to deliver safe, reliable performance.
• Oversee all maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Implement and manage preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance strategies to minimise downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement and equipment reliability through data, KPIs and root cause analysis.
• Manage budgets, projects and contractors to deliver cost-effective results.

Skills & Experience Required as an Engineering Manager

• Time-served apprenticeship and strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Solid understanding of planned and preventative maintenance systems.
• Track record of improving OEE, reliability and reducing unplanned downtime.
• Confident communicator with strong leadership, problem-solving and organisational skills.

This role would be suitable for a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager , or Engineering Lead looking for a new opportunity in Hertfordshire and easily commutable from Bishop's Stortford, Harlow, Braintree, Hertford and Saffron Walden.
