Job description

Location: University of Greenwich, 30 Park Row, Greenwich, London, SE10 9LS

Hours per week: 40 Monday to Friday

Salary: circa £44,000 plus excellent benefits

Annual leave: 26 days excluding public holidays

What you’ll do:
  • Lead and supervise a team of on-site engineers, supporting performance, training and development
  • Oversee the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across M&E and building fabric systems
  • Coordinate daily operations with the Helpdesk team to ensure timely response to service requests
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies, Safe Systems of Work and Permit to Work procedures
  • Carry out routine audits to maintain high standards of quality, compliance and documentation
  • Manage subcontractors and specialist suppliers – from scheduling to quality assurance and safety checks

What you bring:
  • HND or NVQ or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Extensive practical experience in building services and plant engineering with formal qualifications and relevant experience within a defined discipline (e.g. electrical, mechanical or similar)
  • Previous appointment as Authorised Person for one or more of the following disciplines: LV, Mechanical Services, Confined Spaces, Boiler and Pressure Systems or similar
  • Experience working within or around World Heritage Listed properties, buildings and environments
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal
  • Numerate and computer literate
  • Previous experience of managing a team of engineers
  • Desirable: Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations
  • Desirable: Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations
  • Desirable: Membership of Institute of Leadership and Management
  • Desirable: IOSH Managing Safety
  • Desirable: Emergency first aid qualification
  • Desirable: IOSH Managing Safety
