A leading energy services company in the UK is seeking an Energy Engineering Director to head their design and engineering team. The successful candidate will lead operations and drive initiatives towards low carbon power solutions. We have an exciting new opportunity for an Energy Engineering Director to lead our in-house design and engineering team. The team comprises a combination of highly skilled engineers and construction professionals, with a proven track record for success, secure order book and extensive pipeline. The Energy Engineering Director will oversee the teams current operations, whilst also taking a lead role in its future growth working with customers to help tailor solutions to help deliver resilient, low carbon power.
Our Carbon Shift consulting business is focussed on the delivery of realisable climate action and net zero plans and is supported by delivery capability in heat decarbonisation, regeneration, Facilities Management, Project delivery, EVs, smart buildings and renewables. Carbon Shift has developed a strong expertise and client base around net zero and energy transition and is now moving expand this offer into offering solutions to the broader climate adaptation and resilience challenge.
The Energy Engineering Director will coordinate with adjoining business functions and shared services to facilitate the progression of projects. The team plays a critical role between strategic consulting (nominally RIBA 0 to 2) and construction (nominally RIBA 5 to 6), whilst also providing support to operational projects. Close interfaces are held with procurement, commercial and legal teams, as well as a supply-chain of specialists alongside a deep understanding of customer requirements.
As the head of the team, the Engineering Director is a high profile representative for the Carbon Shift business and will be expected to regularly chair meetings, deliver presentations and speak confidently in various public forums.
