About Baringa

We set out to build the world's most trusted consulting firm – creating lasting impact for clients and pioneering a positive, people‑first way of working. We work with everyone from FTSE 100 names to bright new start‑ups, in every sector.

You'll find us collaborating shoulder‑to‑shoulder with our clients, from the big picture right down to the detail: helping them define their strategy, deliver complex change, spot the right commercial opportunities, manage risk, or bring their purpose and sustainability goals to life. Our clients love how we get to know what makes their organisations tick – slotting seamlessly into their teams and being proudly geeky about solving their challenges.

We have hubs in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia, and we work all around the world – from a wind farm in Wyoming to a boardroom in Berlin. Find us wherever there's a challenge to be tackled and an impact to be made.

We are looking for experienced Senior Managers and Directors to join our thriving and award‑winning energy and water team.

Our practice

Our Energy and Water team is a dynamic, award‑winning group of experts dedicated to tackling the utilities sector's most pressing and public‑facing challenges, including driving the transition to Net Zero.

Our clients rely on our deep industry experience, knowledge and insight coupled with a hands‑on, pragmatic delivery approach to solve challenges in Retail Energy, Energy Networks and Water, including market reform, customer operations, net‑zero strategies, policy, strategy, innovation, and digital solutions.

What you will be doing

This is an exciting opportunity for entrepreneurial‑minded consultants who are excited at the possibility of joining and helping grow our energy and water team. As a privately held LLP, this position offers the future possibility of admission to an equity partnership with sustained high performance.

  • You will be a trusted advisor for our clients helping them identify, assess, design and implement solutions to their most complex business challenges.
  • You will be responsible for scoping and delivering complex multi‑faced change programmes under challenging market conditions.
  • You will work frequently in industry within high visibility areas, leading blended project teams of Baringa and client personnel.
  • You will be part of our practice's leadership team, driving business development activities and go‑to‑market strategy.
Your skills and experience

Our Senior Manager position requires 8+ years of experience (Director 10+ years) in a consulting role with extensive experience within the utilities sector.

We are seeking experienced industry professionals who have deep management consulting experience and a curious personality with a track record of:

  • Shaping, building, nurturing and leading successfully blended teams of clients and consultants.
  • Delivering complex client engagements with tangible outcomes.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to drive business development.
  • Strong communication, leadership and presentation skills.
  • The ability to explain complex concepts to non‑specialists.

We are particularly looking for individuals with experience or specialisation in the following key areas:

  • Digital: Experience delivering digital, data platforms & solutions including AI in utilities.
  • Customer: Understanding of complex processes across customer metering, billing, debt management from a systems, process and regulatory perspective.
  • Field Services: Experience in field service transformation to enable performance improvement and net‑zero delivery.
  • Network Infrastructure: Experience shaping, delivering & digital enablement of asset management & capital delivery programmes in utilities.
  • Energy Distribution: Knowledge of DSO, flexibility markets or grid connection processes and relevant industry reforms.

Our main focus for these roles is across the UK & Ireland markets, but experience in Australia, the US or Continental Europe would also be useful.
