Overview

Employee Relations (ER) Specialist
Salary: £50,000 plus excellent benefits
Location: Pontypridd base with travel across Wales and the borders + hybrid working when the role allows

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join a well-established organisation and play a key role in maintaining positive employee relations across a complex, unionised environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and advise on complex ER casework (disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, investigations, appeals and ACAS/ET cases) from start to resolution.
  • Provide proactive coaching and expert guidance to managers, ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
  • Build strong relationships with trade unions and external partners to foster a collaborative approach.
  • Use data and MI to identify trends, recommend interventions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to HR projects and policy development to support cultural change and deliver a great employee experience.
About you
  • Chartered CIPD membership (or equivalent) with up-to-date employment law knowledge.
  • Significant experience managing complex ER cases and working in a unionised environment.
  • Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
