Overview

Employability Tutor - Fixed Term until 31 July 2025

Location: Hull

Working Hours: 18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £31,171 FTE per annum (Actual Salary £15,585.50 per annum)

Annual Leave: 145 hours per annum

Responsibilities
  • Preparing teaching materials, equipment, and resources for student activities and project work, including planning and online materials.
  • Delivering high-quality learning experiences which enable learners to develop in their learning of academic skills.
  • Supporting the development of learners’ mastery of skills and knowledge through the delivery of contextualised vocational sessions and reinforcement of learning through the practice of skills.
  • Measuring learner progress through a range of assessments and through providing feedback.
  • Assisting learners across all programmes to include apprenticeship delivery, including completion of tracking and other records linked to programme requirement.
  • Maintaining academic records including registers, records of work and any other records which may be required from time to time.
  • Distributing equipment, tools, and materials to authorised staff and students if required.
  • Providing a high-quality, professional image and environment as directed by the Curriculum Operations Manager / Director of Learning.
  • Ensuring all display work is up to date, of a high quality, and represents the students within the current area.
  • Assisting in the efficient running of the area by being aware of the duties performed by other members of the team and helping if requested.
  • Complete all administration in line with the learner journey as required.
What we’re looking for
  • Subject specific Level 3/4 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training/Cert Ed/PGCE (or willingness to achieve within two years).
  • Minimum of a level 2 qualification in English and maths (or equivalent).
  • L3 Assessor qualification or willing to work towards.
  • Experience of working in an academic setting and working with learners to support their needs.
  • Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a classroom, workshop or workplace environment.
  • Experience of supporting revision workshops, study skills, and covering classes.
  • Knowledge of the specialist sector.
