Job summary

Job description

Supporting young people, including SEND to secure employment, apprenticeships, or further education opportunities. Be the link between internal and external services, ensuring young people get guidance, support, and opportunities to progress successfully.

  • Develop personalised action plans for young people and identify suitable career development, training, and learning programmes.
  • Support young people to overcome barriers to employment and education, and, where appropriate, refer them to further progression opportunities.
  • Work in partnership with schools, colleges, local authority teams, employers, and specialist providers to identify educational and employment pathways.
  • Maintain regular contact and engagement with young people, manage individual caseloads, and provide ongoing 1:1 and group support.
  • Arrange pre-placement meetings with employers and support young people during placements to maximise success.
  • Conduct outreach activities to increase engagement and recruitment of young people onto the programme.
  • Accurately maintain and update records to inform practice, monitor progress, and report outcomes against KPIs.
Requirements
  • Ideally, an IAG, youth work, or teaching qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 4 or above), or equivalent qualification, including English and maths.
  • Proven experience working with young people, including those with SEND, and a strong understanding of the barriers they may face in accessing employment and education.
  • Experience of employer engagement and supporting young people in work placements or pre-employment programmes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and caseloads effectively.
  • Own transport

  • Hybrid but mainly being out and about in the community attending meetings, supervisions, meeting participants etc so need to be based locally and be able to work 5 days a week in the office when required, doing a lot of outreach.
