Team and Facilities

We employ over 250 associates working as part of an outstanding multi-disciplinary team led by internationally renowned specialists. Our service teams include Orthopaedics, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Oncology, Soft Tissue Surgery, Cardiology, Dermatology, Emergency and Critical Care, Anaesthesia and Analgesia, Diagnostic Imaging and Physiotherapy. Our hospital facilities are of the highest quality, including on-site Siemens 64-slice CT, Siemens 1.5T MRI, two in-theatre mobile image intensifiers, two digital radiography rooms, ultrasonography, electro diagnostics, video endoscopy and an extensive range of advanced surgical equipment.

Position

Due to expansion of our current team a great opportunity has arisen for an Emergency nurse to join our team working within our stunning, purpose-built, Veterinary Hospital. This role will provide a unique opportunity to:

  • Provide emergency care for a wide range of cases from our local primary care practices
  • Work alongside the Emergency Vets within a multiple disciplinary environment to support the provision of emergency referrals
  • Deliver exceptional inpatient care to emergency cases requiring prolonged hospitalisation and to critical cases, with support from our Emergency Vets and ECC Specialists
The successful applicant would ideally have at least two year’s experience in small animal practice and share our values of providing the best possible level of care. There will be ample support and great case exposure for those interested in enrolling on a certificate or plenty of scope to develop your skills further.
Rota

The 8 week rota allows a combination of working day, evening and overnight shifts, as well as 3 weeks off built in to allow a great work life balance. The rota consists of:

  • Week 1: Monday–Sunday – 7am–5pm shifts
  • Week 2: Off shift
  • Week 3: Monday–Sunday – 4pm–2am shifts
  • Week 4: Off shift
  • Week 5: Off shift
  • Week 6: Monday–Friday – 12pm–10pm shifts
  • Week 7: Tuesday–Thursday on call 7pm–11pm. Friday 11am–9pm, Saturday 10am–8pm, Sunday 7am–5pm
  • Week 8: Monday 7am–5pm. Tuesday–Thursday on call 8am–12pm
Requirements
  • Nurses qualified for at least two years
  • Primary care experience in a hospital environment desirable
  • Experience in emergency work also very useful
