Job summary

A healthcare organization in Steeton is seeking an Emergency Medicine Specialty Doctor to join their team. This role is ideal for doctors passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a modern environment. Competitive salary ranging from £61,542 to £99,216 per annum pro rata.

Responsibilities

  • Be involved in the initial reception and management of patients attending the Department.
  • Be involved in the teaching of junior doctors, medical students and nursing staff.
  • Undertake some administrative responsibilities, e.g. daily auditing of x-ray and pathology results.
  • Assist the consultants in running the shop floor, ensuring timely patient care.

Emergency Medicine Specialty Doctor - Out Of Programme Training (OOPT)

We are looking for both established specialty doctors looking for a new challenge or for post-ACCS EM trainees who feel a move to becoming a specialty doctor can provide a better work-life balance with the possibility for more stability. In fact, a number of our current specialty doctors are local trainees who did just that. We also have experience of successfully supporting colleagues through FRCEM and CESR.

Main duties of the job

The post is based in the Emergency Department at Airedale General Hospital.

The post holder/s will be responsible to the ED consultants and will be expected to:

  • Be involved in the initial reception and management of patients attending the Department.
  • Be involved in the teaching of junior doctors, medical students and nursing staff.
  • Undertake some administrative responsibilities, e.g. daily auditing of x-ray and pathology results.
  • Assist the consultants in the running of the shop floor, ensuring patients are seen by appropriate staff in a timely fashion, that junior staff are appropriately supervised and receive adequate rest/meal breaks.

The post-holder undertakes exceptionally to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances essential to the continuity of patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • Valid ALS, APLS and ATLS certificates (or equivalent)

EXPERIENCE
