Emergency Department Administrator

The closing date is 08 January 2026

This position is a patient facing role - the postholders will be part of the Emergency Department Admin Team providing 24/7 cover for the ED Reception and patient flow. Within the role, the postholders will be required to register all ambulance and walk in patients, be the first port of call for all ED telephone enquiries, emails and booking of urgent outpatient appointments. They will also monitor patient flow, breaches and update the Epic track board.

Job responsibilities

The postholders will be based in the Emergency Department at the North Devon District Hospital and situated in both a patient facing and front‑line clinical area.

Working Pattern: To meet the needs of the service, the postholders will be required to work a 24/7 rota covering day, twilight, weekend and night shifts.

There are 2 roles available; 18hrs and 32hrs.
