Overview

Position: Emergency Department Administrative Coordinator

Location: Wexham Park Hospital

Contract: Full Time (including occasional evenings, weekends, and night shifts as required)

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to take on the role of Administrative Coordinator within our Urgent and Emergency Care Department at Frimley Park Hospital. This is a newly established position, offering a unique and exciting opportunity to shape and develop the role in collaboration with the Directorate Service Manager. As the lead for the administrative team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the department and ensuring high standards of service delivery.

It’s a particularly exciting time to join the Emergency Department. With a strong focus on patient-centred care and access to modernised, purpose-built facilities, this role offers both challenge and reward in equal measure. You will be joining a dedicated team committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of Band 2 and Band 3 administrative staff, overseeing daily operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Support and motivate your team to consistently provide excellent customer care throughout a 24/7, 365-day service.
  • Contribute to the planning and coordination of critical incidents, helping to develop and restructure administrative services as needed to meet evolving departmental demands.
  • Take responsibility for workforce planning and recruitment, ensuring that staffing levels are appropriate and that new hires are effectively onboarded.
  • Ensure that all team members complete mandatory training and appraisals on time, maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain staff performance, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to promote a skilled and engaged workforce.
