Overview

EMC & AC Power Electronics Contract – Civilian Space Tech! Program (Outside IR35)

We are currently offering a 6-month initial contract opportunity (Outside IR35) to support the development of advanced power electronics systems within a cutting-edge civil aerospace program.

Location: Onsite in Wokingham – due to the nature of EMC testing and support, regular onsite presence is essential.

This role is ideally suited for an engineer with a strong background in EMC compliance, AC power system design (230V, 800–2000Hz), and hands-on power electronics development.

The client are welcoming both mid-level experience and senior level applicants.

You’ll be contributing directly to the validation and integration of next- airborne power systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide EMC technical support throughout the design, test, and validation phases of a 230V AC power supply system.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure compliance with aerospace EMC standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-461, etc.).
  • Support the design and development of AC power electronics, including filtering, grounding strategies, and shielding techniques.
  • Perform EMC testing and troubleshooting at the system and sub-system level.
  • Assist in the development and execution of test plans, reports, and technical documentation for certification.
  • Engage in root cause analysis and mitigation of conducted and radiated emissions issues.
Ideal Background
  • Exposure/Experience with power electronics (800Hz–2000Hz range ideal).
  • Proven track record of EMC testing, debugging, and compliance in regulated industries (preferably aerospace).
  • Familiarity with EMC test equipment, setups, and interpreting results.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-integrity engineering environment.
