Embedded Firmware Engineer

Amsterdam, the Netherlands — Hybrid Working — Initial part-time contract: 2-3 days per week — Option to join full-time in 2026.

This Initial engagement is part-time, with scope to discuss a full-time role next year as the team grows.

What you’ll do…
  • Design and develop low-power C++ firmware on Nordic nRF platform in an RTOS environment.
  • Build robust connectivity features across BLE and LTE-M/NB-IoT.
  • Implement diagnostics, logging, and fault-tolerant boot/rollback for field devices.
  • Collaborate with embedded, app, and cloud engineers to define protocols and test strategies.
Skills you have…
  • Strong experience developing embedded systems with modern C++ on MCUs.
  • Delivery of BLE features in production devices.
  • Experience with cellular IoT (LTE-M/NB-IoT), sockets/TLS, and constrained networking.
  • Solid RTOS fundamentals: scheduling, ISR vs threads, memory management, watchdogs, and low-power design.
  • Bonus: hands-on with Nordic SDK/Zephyr, nRF Connect, and common toolchains/debuggers.
