Job description

A prestigious intellectual property firm is seeking a Qualified Patent Attorney with a background in electronics or related fields to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney in the newly qualified to 3 years PQE range to build on their experience in a forward-thinking, supportive environment.

The Role

You will work on a wide variety of technically challenging matters across electronics, telecommunications, software, artificial intelligence, and broader engineering technologies. The position offers the chance to manage your own caseload while also collaborating with senior colleagues on high-value and contentious work.

  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the UK, Europe, and internationally.
  • Handling oppositions and appeals before the EPO.
  • Providing commercially focused advice to a diverse client base, from multinational corporations to start-ups.
  • Supporting strategic IP management, portfolio development, and freedom-to-operate analysis.
About You

Qualified UK and/or European Patent Attorney.

Background in electronics, electrical engineering, physics, or a closely related subject.

NQ–3 years PQE, with proven experience advising clients on patent matters.

Strong communication and client-handling skills, with a commercial outlook.

Experience in AI-related technologies is highly desirable.
