Electrical Test Engineer

We specialise in electrical installation, control systems, and fire and security solutions, delivering high-quality services to industrial, commercial, and utilities sectors. Our multi-disciplinary expertise allows us to manage projects from start to finish, acting as principal contractor and ensuring full CDM compliance.

The Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a key role, responsible for managing electrical projects and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the electrical team, including meetings and appraisals.
  • Liaise with clients to develop solutions and provide technical advice.
  • Estimate and prepare quotations for installations, testing, remedial works, and repairs.
  • Schedule and manage projects using in-house and subcontract labour.
  • Maintain accurate records in the company management system.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including risk assessments and method statements.
  • Produce and sign off electrical test sheets and certification.
  • Order materials and manage supplier quotations.
  • Attend site progress and client meetings.
  • Oversee quality standards and NICEIC best practices.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Level 3 City & Guilds Electrical Technical Certificate
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • City & Guilds 2391 Test & Inspection Qualification
  • Valid JIB/ECS card
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Previous experience in the water industry (advantageous but not essential)
