Job summary

A leading electrical services company is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to oversee the installation and commissioning of EV charging infrastructure. You will manage on-site operations, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards. The ideal candidate should possess NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and significant site management experience in EV projects.

Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Site Manager to oversee the installation and commissioning of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The successful candidate will manage on-site operations, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards. This role is ideal for a qualified electrical professional with strong site management experience in EV charging, high voltage (HV) / low voltage (LV) systems, or related infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations on EV charging infrastructure projects.
• Manage electrical installations from groundworks through to commissioning.
• Liaise with project managers, DNOs, clients, and contractors to ensure smooth delivery.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and site-specific RAMS.
• Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour teams, monitoring performance and progress.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, site reports, and material logs.
• Conduct quality checks and support testing and commissioning activities.
• Identify and resolve on-site issues efficiently to minimise delays or cost impacts.
• Ensure projects meet all relevant industry standards and electrical regulations.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• SMSTS or SSSTS Certification.
• ECS Gold Card (preferred).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
• Experience managing electrical installation projects, ideally in EV infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of LV and HV systems.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.

Desirable

• Experience working with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) or Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
• Knowledge of CDM regulations.
• First Aid at Work certification.
• Previous experience with grid connections or battery storage installations.
