Job summary

A construction and maintenance company in the UK is seeking an experienced Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to perform ongoing electrical testing and certification in residential properties. Candidates must be qualified to NVQ level 3 Electrical Installation, hold the 2391 Testing and Inspection, and possess 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification. This role involves ensuring installation quality, validating repairs, and engaging with customers effectively. A full UK Driving Licence and a flexible approach are essential for participation in the on-call rota.

  • Complete on-going electrical testing (EICRs) within occupied residential properties.
  • Check and sign off electrical certification conducted by other electricians.
  • Ensure installations of works around kitchens & bathrooms meet quality standards.
  • Validation on electrical repairs, small works, and inspections.

We are currently looking for a skilled Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to join our successful Response business based in Newton Abbot. You will specialise in carrying out Responsive Maintenance Repairs to our customers' properties.

The Electrical Qualifying Supervisor role
  • Complete on‑going electrical testing (EICRs) within occupied residential properties.
  • As an EQS you will also be responsible for checking and signing off electrical certification conducted by the other electricians as well as notifying building control of any new installation works.
  • Ensuring installations of works surrounding kitchens & bathrooms are completed to a quality standard and post‑inspections are completed.
  • Validation on electrical repairs, small works, and test & inspections.
What will you bring as an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor?
  • Qualified to an NVQ level 3 Electrical Installation, or similar professional body (e.g., City & Guilds) and AM2 is essential.
  • 2391 – Testing and Inspection is essential.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is essential.
  • Experience working within a domestic environment, and comfortable working within occupied residential properties.
  • Flexibility and a can‑do attitude, with the occasional requirement to be part of our on‑call rota for emergency out of hours electrical work.
  • Strong customer facing skills are essential, as you often will be the face of the business from our customers’ perspective.
  • A full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.
