Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or equivalent – City and Guilds NVQ L3, ONC or above.
• 18th Edition BS qualified & IOSH desirable (training will be provided if not already possessed).
• Experience in a similar role, ideally in a heavy or industrial engineering setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the plants are maintained for required uptime.
• Carry out planned weekly preventative maintenance shifts.
• Fault find, diagnose, test and repair electrical equipment.
• Plan and complete preventive maintenance for each site.
• Agree and maintain par stock of essential parts.
• Project and installation work to improve efficiency and safety.
• Keep up-to-date and develop technical knowledge.

Description

We are delighted to support an industry‑leading business in the Hartlepool area in the search for an Electrical Maintenance Technician. The position works within the plant maintenance team covering four local sites.

Overall purpose: The role involves carrying out planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance while strictly adhering to health and safety procedures. Daily, weekly and monthly reports must be generated and all work documented in the maintenance system. Guidance will be provided to semi‑skilled maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Maintenance Manager and ensure the plants are maintained for required uptime.
• Ensure planned weekly preventative maintenance shifts are carried out to specification.
• Fault find, diagnose, test and repair electrical equipment, static and mobile plant.
• Plan and complete preventive maintenance for each site within agreed timeframes.
• Agree and maintain par stock of essential parts, adhering to the department budget using order numbers and spend controls.
• Project and installation work to improve efficiency and safety of all sites.
• Keep up‑to‑date and develop technical knowledge, read and understand schematic and wiring diagrams.

Requirements

• Apprentice trained or equivalent – City and Guilds NVQ L3, ONC or above.
• 18th Edition BS qualified & IOSH desirable (training will be provided if not already possessed).

Package

• Starting salary of £48,000 per annum, increasing up to £53,000 per annum over time.
• Continental shift pattern: 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights (36 hrs week 1, 48 hrs week 2) on rotation.
