Job description
Role Overview

Our client is currently seeking a Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a leading Biotechnology manufacturing company based in the Kent area. As the Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all manufacturing and facility equipment.

You will perform preventative and/or corrective maintenance for all manufacturing and facility equipment according to their specification and procedures. As well as complex electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. Work will be completed in highly regulated environments, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Plan, schedule, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including troubleshooting for all manufacturing and facility equipment in line with specifications and procedures.
  2. Lead or assist in interpreting blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications in planning and performing maintenance and repairs.
  3. Participate in authoring detailed documentation for the operation and maintenance of manufacturing systems and utilities.
  4. Coordinate and supervise the work of outside vendors for electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, and other contractors.
Role Requirements
  1. You will be suitable qualified within an electrical engineering discipline, such as a time-served apprenticeship or similar. The successful candidate must also have a minimum of 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
  2. Proven industry experience in a GMP or highly regulated manufacturing facility.
  3. A working knowledge and practical experience with utility and facility systems, HVAC systems, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Control Systems.
