A leading UK port and logistics company is looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to manage preventive and reactive maintenance on diverse equipment. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in electrical engineering within a heavy industrial setting and possess excellent fault-finding skills. Are you seeking a role in which you can work on a wide variety of equipment, from Victorian aged machinery to modern day technologies? Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician with experience working on heavy industrial equipment? We are seeking an Electrician to join our team at Runcorn and help us keep the world moving! This role will include travel to other sites along the Manchester Ship Canal.
In this role you will work within the team to carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance effectively and in a safe manner. You will report parts and materials deficits to the Supervisor without delay. You will complete the workload as stipulated by the Supervisor in a safe and efficient manner, delivering a safe personal working culture.
You will demonstrate commitment to multi-skilled activity where appropriate, completing SAP work orders to identify tasks completed. Whilst your place of work will be Runcorn, you will be expected to travel to other sites along the Manchester Ship Canal as and when required. As part of the role you will take part in an on‑call rota to ensure 24 hour coverage.
You will have previous Electrical engineering experience, ideally gained in a heavy industrial environment. You will ideally have previous experience working on Programmable Logic Controller equipment, motors, motor controls and variable speed drives.
With excellent fault finding and repair skills, you also have a fundamental knowledge of mechanical equipment such as bearings, limits and fits and gearing systems. You must be willing to train to APLV standard and hold a full valid driving licence.
