Salary: £44,558- £54,453 per annum depending on qualifications. Hours per week: 37. Weeks per Annum: 52. Working Pattern: Mon-Tue 8:30-16:30 Fri - 8:30-16:00. Location: Abingdon. Contract Type: Permanent.

We're looking for a dynamic and dedicated Electrical Installation Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and training in electrical installation and related subjects to Level 3 apprentices and adult learners enrolled in short courses at our thriving Net Zero Skills Hub.

This role is more than just classroom teaching; it's an opportunity to make a real impact. You'll deliver engaging lessons to Level 3 apprentices; adult learners enrolled in short courses. You'll help develop learners' technical skills, knowledge, and professional competencies to meet industry standards, setting them up for success in their career.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in Electrical Installation (Level 3) that align with awarding body and industry standards.
  • Develop and deliver lessons for adult learners, apprentices, and short course participants, incorporating real-world applications, modern installation techniques, and up-to-date safety regulations.
  • Design and assess practical and theoretical tasks that reflect industry expectations, supporting learner progression into employment or further education.
  • Mentor learners both academically and pastorally, helping them reach their full potential.
  • Maintain high standards in the electrical workshop, ensuring safe and effective practices for all learners.
  • Plan, prepare, and evaluate both theory and practical sessions.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring it reflects current electrical regulations, best practices, and learner needs.
  • Coordinate exam entries, maintain course documentation, and assist with internal quality assurance processes.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to ensure the curriculum reflects employability skills and industry relevance.
  • Play a key role in ensuring learner retention, achievement, and positive outcomes.
Essential Experience:
  • Recognised qualification in Electrical Installation (e.g. City & Guilds 5357, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) or a willingness to work towards one.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current electrical practices, tools, and safety standards (including 18th Edition).
  • Passion for teaching and the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage course documentation and assessments effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and the values of the FE sector.
Desirable Experience:
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, or equivalent) and/or IQA experience.
  • Experience working in Further Education or a training provider setting.
  • Background in liaising with employers or industry bodies to enhance curriculum relevance.
  • Ability to contribute to curriculum design, workshop improvements, and continuous quality improvement.
