A prominent educational institution in Leigh is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Installation Lecturer to teach both full-time and part-time programs. The candidate should have industry experience with a passion for teaching and sharing expertise. Responsibilities include delivering quality teaching in the classroom and supporting apprentices in the workplace. This role comes with opportunities for professional development and is ideal for those moving from industry into lecturing.
Wigan and Leigh College are looking to appoint a highly motivated and creative Electrical Installation Lecturer to deliver on both full‑time and part‑time programmes. We currently offer C&G and EAL qualifications within the department ranging from Level 1 to Level 3. For part‑time apprentices we deliver the NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems as part of the Electrical Installation apprenticeship framework, delivered jointly with the college’s Business Services department (assessing apprentices in the workplace).
The college is an exciting place to work as the provision expands and the delivery of Electrical Installation is key to this development as we move to apprenticeship standards. Our philosophy is outstanding teaching and high achievement to ensure students are prepared for the world of work. Staff play a key role by working with employers and apprentices in the workplace and delivering high‑quality teaching in the classroom.
If you are interested in moving into lecturing from industry or are a newly qualified teacher with a passion to pass on your expertise, we will offer you the help and support you need to develop the skills and experience to be an inspirational and effective teacher.
The college has a successful AM2 centre that services the apprentice provision and borough needs. If you are JIB approved and would like to discuss an AM2 assessors role with the college, please do get in touch.
The college reserves the right to interview for this post should we receive suitable candidates prior to the closing date. We reserve the right to bring forward the closing date of the advert should we receive a sufficient level of interest.
