A social housing management company in Islington is seeking an Electrical Inspector to ensure compliance with electrical installations and oversee quality checks on Capital Works projects. Job description
Overview

Electrical Inspector – Islington – Full Time, Permanent

Salary up to £45,900 per annum, plus company van & fuel card

Role

As an Electrical Inspector you will be working on our social housing contract, helping provide a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community.

As an Electrical Inspector in our Islington branch, you will be responsible for inspecting works to verify compliance and quality of electrical installation works on Capital Works projects, inspecting installations, creating reports, as well as liaising with the client and subcontractors.

Responsibilities
  • Organise, coordinate and assist with the production of various reports including Lifecycle Condition Surveys
  • Conduct site inspection, completing and uploading Site Inspection Reports
  • Reviewing subcontractor RAMS
  • Review subcontractors uploaded electrical certification
  • Liaise between Mears and sub-contractors

Ensure electrical works are installed in accordance/compliance with:

  • The electrical design
  • Client specification
  • The current edition of the BS7671 wiring regulations
  • Mears internal policies and procedures To adhere to Mears electrical Compliance standards.
Role Criteria
  • Electrical Installation: City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2; City and Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3 (from Sept 2011); City and Guilds 2365 Levels 2 and 3; City and Guilds 2357 (Including AM2)
  • Inspection & Testing: City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing; City and Guilds 2392 Fundamental Certification, Inspection and Testing; City and Guilds 2394, 2395 Inspection and testing
  • Wiring Regulations: City and Guilds 2382-18/20, 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations
  • Commercial installation experience
  • Planned Maintenance experience

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.

Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before commencement of employment.
