Join our client's team as an Electrical Estimator & Surveyor and play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase of our projects. This position is crucial for managing the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical systems, collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and clients to ensure all estimates align with project requirements and industry standards.

Day‑to‑day of the role

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical projects across various sectors.
• Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and scope of works.
• Conduct take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and rates.
• Prepare and submit tender submissions and proposals.
• Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings as required.
• Work closely with the contracts team to ensure a smooth handover from estimation to delivery.
• Analyse cost and profitability of completed projects to improve future estimates.
• Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, with at least 2 years in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and current regulations.
• Excellent understanding of commercial, industrial, and residential electrical works.
• Proficiency in estimation software and MS Office Suite (Excel essential).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence (reasonable adjustments considered where appropriate).
