Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Power Generation company to recruit an Electrical Engineer for work across 2 of its sites in Northern Ireland.

The Electrical Engineer comes with a starting salary of up to £74,000 + bonus + medical + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Engineer

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, you will :

Maintain the integrity, reliability, and safety of all electrical systems and equipment across both power station sites.

Provide technical electrical engineering expertise to support maintenance activities, fault resolution, and operational performance.

Lead and deliver electrical engineering projects, including new generation installations, plant upgrades, and system modernisation.

Manage and coordinate internal teams and external contractors to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Support the development and implementation of long-term asset management and preventative maintenance strategies.

Collaborate closely with operations, mechanical and control & instrumentation teams to ensure coordinated site activities.

Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and safety requirements, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage electrical spares, procurement activities, and supplier / OEM relationships, including the identification of suitable replacement or upgrade solutions.

Professional qualifications

Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a power generation or heavy industrial environment.

Demonstrated experience delivering engineering projects from concept through to completion.

Strong knowledge of asset life‑cycle management, system upgrades, and the replacement or retrofit of legacy equipment.

Working knowledge of maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP / Eclipse or similar).

Third‑level qualification (Degree, HNC, or HND) in Electrical or Power Engineering; chartered status or progress toward professional registration is desirable.

Personal skills

Proactive and adaptable, with a positive attitude toward change and continuous improvement.

Confident decision‑maker with strong ownership, accountability, and problem‑solving skills.

Effective communicator and team player, able to influence, collaborate, and lead across multidisciplinary teams.
