Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Defence Site (Oxfordshire)

Location: Oxfordshire

Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent

On-Call Requirement: 1 in 5 weeks

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a secure Defence site in Oxfordshire. This is a critical role focused on maintaining the electrical integrity and compliance of the site through both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responsive fault repair.

You will work closely with site staff and contractors to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of electrical systems in a high-security environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled PPM on a range of electrical systems and equipment
  • Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance issues efficiently
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise system downtime
  • Ensure all work meets regulatory standards and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and complete maintenance documentation
  • Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 5 weeks) for emergency support
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors as needed
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation/Maintenance
  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance roles
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Must be eligible for security clearance (due to the nature of the site)
