Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer for a full-time role based in Fareham, UK. You will be responsible for electrical assembly, installation, testing, and fault-finding across various projects. The ideal candidate should hold the 18th Edition BS7671 certification and a minimum of a 3-year apprenticeship in electrical/control engineering. Occasional travel within the UK and overseas is required. Strong assembly and testing skills, along with good communication abilities, are essential for this position.

Qualifications

  • Experience in civil, marine, or aerospace engineering environments.
  • Strong skills in assembly, testing, and fault-finding of electromechanical systems.
  • Intermediate ICT skills (MS Office, email).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems using test equipment.
  • Assist in designing control circuits and wiring to PLCs.
  • Prepare and interpret engineering drawings to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Liaise with procurement for supplies and provide cost estimates.
