Job description

MK Search is working with a very well respected medium‑sized contractor with a turnover of £50m and a strong presence delivering for leading main contractors across the commercial, healthcare and education sectors who due to an internal promotion are looking for an electrical contracts manager to join their team.

At contracts manager level, people have the autonomy to manage their own diaries and can work from their head office in South East London, or from home with travel to sites when required in order to fulfil the role. Typically, you will have an overview of 3-4 projects at a time (circa £15m M&E values combined). You will work alongside a mechanical equivalent and drive collaboration across full MEP packages at all stages of the project life cycle.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop a close relationship with the site teams and a detailed knowledge of your allocated sites by maintaining a visible site presence.
  • On‑site meetings with clients, site managers and engineers.
  • Material procurement.
  • Contract management and dispute resolution.
  • Assistance with the procurement of sub‑contractors.
  • Attend relevant project design, pre‑start, specification, other relevant meetings as required.
  • Support the site teams to running a successful development project.
Person Specification
  • Highly organised.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Previous/Current experience in a similar role.
  • Previous onsite experience.
  • A strong knowledge and appreciation of UK building and Electrical regulations.
  • Experience managing both internal teams and external clients in a commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of relevant IT systems and experience with MS Office – strong Excel skills essential as this is our preferred method of analysis/budget tracking.
