Electrical Buyer South Down £40-50k

Our client based in South Down has an immediate requirement to recruit an Electrical Buyer to their team. You will be responsible for strategic planning and price negotiation for a range of electrical commodities, working with suppliers and the wider team to enable timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.

To be successful in the role you will have excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills. You will be self-motivated and adaptive depending on the needs and demands of the role and will be resilient and tenacious in your approach.

Key Accountabilities of the Role
  • Strategic lead for procurement across the organisation in terms of electrical products
  • Manage coordination of procurement activities undertaken within the business.
  • Work closely with business clients and stakeholders to meet their requirements.
  • Make strategic decisions and improve services ensuring efficiency, productivity, quality and value for money.
  • Management of the electrical procurement process.
  • Ensure that the procurement function is proactive and has an input into procurement decision making ensuring team attends operational progress and planning meetings.
  • Drive the best electrical procurement practice across projects.
  • Ensure effective communication of electrical procurement activities within the projects and to the wider supply chain.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years buying experience within the construction sector
  • Electrical trades background or a good appreciation for the electrical sector
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to challenge, influence and work with cross functional teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing, processes, activities and trends
  • Ability to be self-motivated and adaptable to the demands of the market
