Overview

Our client, a leading manufacturer based in Houghton Le Spring, is seeking an experienced EH&S Supervisor to join their site team.

The Site EH&S Professional will provide both leadership and hands-on support for all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at the manufacturing facility. Working closely with the Plant Manager and the central EHS function, this is a key role in ensuring the site operates safely, sustainably, and in full compliance with UK legislation.

You will be instrumental in developing an autonomous safety culture, maintaining ISO management systems, and driving continuous improvement through employee engagement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all UK environmental, health, and safety legislation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain ISO systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
  • Lead initiatives that build a proactive and autonomous EHS culture.
  • Promote and manage Health & Wellness programs to support employee wellbeing.
  • Define and maintain EHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Deliver EHS training and coaching to managers, supervisors, and employees.
