A prominent summer school provider in the UK seeks an EFL teacher to deliver engaging English language instruction. The role involves teaching a diverse group of students, planning interactive lessons, and ensuring a safe learning environment. As an EFL teacher, your primary responsibility will be to provide excellent English language instruction. With the support of the DOS, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, and participate in creating a secure and positive atmosphere that fosters learning and enjoyment.
Band 2 teachers mainly teach on the English Foundation pathway but may also lead advanced, discussion‑based workshops for Sport Only students and mature and confident English users on the Step Up English pathway.
In this role you’ll teach in a vibrant multinational environment with students from over 80 nationalities, gaining extensive hands‑on experience with mixed groups across CEFR levels A1‑C2 in a short timeframe. You’ll access a supportive workplace with experienced leadership valuing staff welfare, pursue professional development through best practice sharing and networking, and strengthen leadership by delivering workshops, CPD sessions, and mentoring colleagues. The role balances teaching with camp fun, offering the reward of boosting students’ confidence and language abilities.
As a Band 2 teacher you deliver a meaningful, dynamic, interactive language programme responsive to students’ needs, producing high‑quality English Foundation lessons (A1‑C1) covering skills development, functional language, collaborative projects, and Exsportise Language Cup. You may also plan and deliver workshops for sport‑only students on topics such as mental performance, physical health, cultural awareness, leadership, and performance analysis, and facilitate advanced Step Up sessions (B2‑C2) with student‑led seminars, presentations, debates, and discussions. Maximum teaching contact is 310 minutes daily or 25.8 hours weekly.
You take full responsibility for students’ safety, welfare, and behaviour during EFL, never leaving unattended, actively supporting the Director of Studies with department running including placement testing, exams, feedback, behaviour management, teacher support, CPD, complying with Exsportise Teacher standards, liaising on weekly planning, communicating clear learning outcomes, maintaining notebooks with work/corrections/self‑reviews, enforcing the no‑phone policy (including break times), completing administration (lesson plans, profiles, registers, logs), writing accurate weekly progress reports, and creating vibrant classroom displays.
You attend daily staff meetings, follow Staff Handbook / Centre Manager / DoS guidelines, assist camp set‑up/pack‑down, and carry out other reasonable duties for smooth operations.
£760 per week (including holiday pay). Unique experience to work and teach within a fast‑paced and energetic multi‑national environment with 80+ nationalities.
