Job description

Well-regarded law firm is seeking to recruit an Education lawyer of 5 or more years’ PQE to work in their Manchester office. Alternatively, the successful applicant can be based in any of this firm’s offices but will be required to attend the firm’s North-West office for 1 day per month. The team represents Local Authorities in SEN Tribunals defending parental appeals. This firm requires someone who can assist in growing the team and the successful candidate will be required to engage in business development/ marketing activities in order to meet this remit. The ideal person will, ideally, have either SEN experience and/or experience of schools-related work. However, they will also consider candidates who perhaps have experience of Judicial Reviews (particularly if that experience relates to Education and/or Discrimination matters).

Our client is happy to consider candidates either currently working in a private practice law firm or those with relevant experience currently working in a Local Authority/ Local Government. They will also consider applicants seeking full-time or part-time work (though candidates seeking part-time work would be expected to work at least 3 days per week). The firm also offer hybrid working arrangements (so for full-time employees, this would mean, ideally, 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week working from home).
