With a competitive salary of £16.04 per hour, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed to supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).


Key Responsibilities


  • Assist students with personal care tasks, such as toileting, feeding, and mobility

  • Support students during lessons, helping them to engage with learning activities and stay on task

  • Encourage students to develop their independence, self-esteem, and social skills

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required

  • Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities


Essential Qualifications and Skills


  • Good literacy and numeracy skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, young people, and adults

  • Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude

  • Willingness to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of individual students

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Qualifications and Experience


  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND

  • Relevant qualifications, such as an NVQ or equivalent in a related field

  • First Aid certification

  • Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems used by students with SEND
