A public sector organization in Solihull is seeking an Education Health & Care Plan Officer on a 12-month fixed contract. This full-time role requires experience with special educational needs, along with strong analytical skills to manage caseloads effectively. Applicants will engage with multiple stakeholders and support vulnerable children and young people. The position offers hybrid working options and includes various employee benefits.
Band E/F - £38,220 - £51,356 per annum.
12 month Fixed Term Contract
We are looking for an EHCP Officer – Full time (37 hours per week) 12 months Fixed Term Contract – due to maternity cover. Internal secondments will be considered for the Fixed Term posts.
This is an exciting time to join Solihull’s Education, Health and Care Plan Team. We are looking for professionals with experience in special educational needs who are seeking a new challenge and responsibility in an exciting and fast paced role. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will request and collate information from a number of partner services in line with the local authority’s legal duties and working processes.
As an EHCP Officer you will manage a caseload of children and young people with Educational Health Care Plans or those who are under assessment, identifying and raising complex cases with your supervisor and supporting parents, young people and schools.
You will effectively be able to engage with parents, young people and schools, ensuring that they are supported, and that their EHCP journey is underpinned by co-production principles.

This role offers hybrid working opportunities - currently office based 3 days per week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with the option of working from home on a Thursday and Friday.

Incremental progression between bands is dependent on experience, performance and undertaking the additional specified criteria of the Band F role which includes Level 4 SEND Caseworker award which the council offers to permanent staff in this role.
