Job summary

A leading specialist in talent acquisition is seeking an Ecologist based in Cardiff for a 12-month contract. In this role, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, plan and conduct field surveys, and act as the Ecological Clerk of Works. The ideal candidate holds a degree in ecology or a related field and strong skills in protected species surveys. This position offers a competitive wage of up to £16.82 per hour and the chance to work on impactful ecological projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in ecology or closely related field required.
  • Membership of CIEEM desired.
  • Desirable to have protected species survey licence(s).

ARM have an exciting opportunity for a Ecologist, You'll be joining an award-winning team of ecologists work throughout the UK to deliver a diverse range of challenging and exciting projects that benefit our clients, biodiversity and society.

Role
  • Collaborating with our multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Planning, coordinating and undertaking field surveys; analysing and interpreting survey results.
  • Ecological Clerk of Works.
Requirements
  • A degree in ecology or closely related field.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
  • Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) Level 3 or above (desirable), or be able to demonstrate that skills are equivalent to this.
  • Strong protected species survey skills, including demonstrable competency to capable level in line with CIEEM’s Competency Framework to lead protected species surveys is essential, particularly for hazel dormouse.
  • Protected species survey licence(s) are desirable but not essential.
  • Strong collaborative behaviours to interface with multi-disciplinary teams and other stakeholders.
  • A full UK / EEC driving licence.
