The role of the Highly specialist Cardiac Physiologist is to undertake cardiology diagnostic testing mainly as part of the new Community Diagnostic Centre.
To ensure a high-quality patient experience.To ensure a high standard of careTo ensure all cardiology patients who require testing have a Cardiac Physiologist in attendance.Be RCCP or AHCS registeredBSE accreditedTechnical dutiesParticipate in mainly performing transthoracic echocardiograms all in the requirements of BSE standards.Other diagnostics required exercise testing, Ambulatory monitoring of ECGs & BP and pacemaker testingAll to include the following: -Be fully competent at offering a full exercise testing service, whether Physiology or consultant leadBe ILS trained or a minimum of BLS with AED annually.Provide full manual BP monitoring during exerciseInterpret in full the ECG and be aware of indications & Contra indicationsBe fully able to provide to BSE standard echocardiogram reportsAssist with Bubble, Stress echo or 3D studiesOperate Echopac reporting system and write echo reports

Operate Sentinel system to provide centralised site for Cardiology reportsAttach and instruct patients on the ambulatory BP monitor usingDownload, interpret and provide reports for these BP testsAttach and instruct patients on the ambulatory ECG monitorsDownload in full all recording utilising Sentinel system in Lifescreen and Pathfinder analysis.Provide all reports, on interpretation if a life-threatening arrhythmia occurs contact each Consultant directly.Assure all consumables present for testingProvide accurate charge sheets and patient lists.Be fully aware of all cardiac equipment within the establishment which may be needed to assist our customersParticipate in Audit, research and development when required.To be aware of all Policies appropriate to postAssist and perform duties delegated by Hospital manager that are within capabilities
