Job summary

A community services provider in Peterborough is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to provide quality onsite childcare while parents participate in programs. This casual role focuses on assisting families in child-rearing and creating a nurturing environment. Candidates should have knowledge of the Early Years Framework, a current driver's license, and be prepared to support diverse community needs. A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education is preferred and ongoing training will be provided.

About The Position

Location: Peterborough / Kadina - 2 Positions

Status: Casual

The Children and Parenting Support Service assists families to reach their full potential by providing appropriate caring assistance and modelling.

As an Early Childhood Educator you will provide a high standard crèche service for children on site while their parents/caregivers are attending a program organised by the Parenting Programs and other associated programs at UnitingCountry SA.

This role will:

  • Assist families to reach their full potential by providing appropriate caring assistance and modelling.
  • Help families develop a nurturing context for child rearing.
  • Work in a preventative context.
  • Adopt strength based and client empowerment work practices.
  • Provide families with opportunities to connect socially and with other appropriate services.
  • Provide onsite childcare as appropriate to the Early Years Framework supervising the children while their parents/caregivers participate in a program.

Skills And Experiences

You will:

  • Have knowledge of the Early Years Framework.
  • Hold strong relationship building and communication skills.
  • Have demonstrated experience in supervising children in a childcare setting.
  • Possess skills in collecting and recording information in the relevant database/s.

It is essential for you to have:

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.

It is desirable for you to have:

  • A Certificate III (or above) in Early Childhood Education or a similar discipline.
  • Current Provide First Aid certificate.
  • Relevant experience in a paid or voluntary capacity.

You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between Uniting Country SA sites or interstate as required.
