Location: Garstang, Preston
Contract: Full-time, Temporary
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 4:00pm

Veritas Education is working exclusively with a secondary school in Garstang, Preston, to recruit a dedicated Design & Technology Technician to join their team immediately.

About the Role:

You will play a key role in supporting the DT department across multiple areas, including:

• Textiles: Assisting with sewing, cutting materials, and preparing resources.
• Cooking: Helping students during practical lessons, tidying up, and operating equipment such as washing machines.
• Resistant Materials: Organising tools, cutting wood, and ensuring a safe and efficient workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain equipment and materials for practical lessons.
• Support students and staff during lessons, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
• Keep work areas clean and organised.
• Assist with stock control and ordering supplies when required.

Requirements:

• Ability to use a sewing machine confidently.
• Practical skills in cooking and woodwork.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a similar role or DT environment is desirable but not essential.

Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until end of January
