Driver / Warehouse Operative

Location: Romsey

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 (42.5 hours per week)

Salary: £27,500 per year

We are a rapidly growing company within the building services sector, supplying and distributing a wide range of products to customers across the construction and trade industries. Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our busy Romsey branch. This is a hands‑on role that requires an active, practical individual who takes pride in providing an excellent delivery service and maintaining a well‑organised warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out multi-drop deliveries to customers, including building sites and trade premises across the South West.
  • Safely drive company vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, including flatbeds, Luton vans, and similar light commercial vehicles.
  • Load and unload vehicles efficiently and in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed on time, accurately, and in good condition.
  • Review deliveries with recipients to confirm accuracy and obtain delivery confirmations.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and keep vehicles clean, safe, and roadworthy.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare goods for delivery.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties, including stock control, goods in/out, and maintaining a tidy working environment.
  • Maintain regular communication with the branch team regarding delivery schedules and customer requirements.
Skills & Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence (entitled to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes).
  • Minimum of 3 years' driving experience preferred, but not essential.
  • Excellent road knowledge and understanding of UK road laws.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable with good timekeeping and attention to detail.
  • Fit, active, and capable of manual handling.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Forklift licence desirable (training can be provided for the right candidate).
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to work hard.
