Be the Person Who Helps Doctors Reach Patients in Need

At IC24, we’re driven by purpose. We support patients when their GP surgery is closed, helping deliver urgent care to those who need it most. As an Out-of-Hours (OOH) Driver, you play a key role in making that happen. Ensuring our doctors can safely reach patients across Kent, day or night. This is a role where every journey matters, every shift brings new experiences, and your contribution makes a genuine difference to people’s lives.

What You’ll Do

Drive with Purpose

  • Provide safe, confident transport for doctors visiting patients in their homes
  • Travel across Kent, sometimes to remote or rural areas, helping clinicians reach people who may be critically unwell
  • Navigate a variety of environments, from quiet residential streets to countryside locations, keeping doctors moving efficiently throughout the shift
  • Assist clinicians when entering or leaving patient homes where needed

Keep Our Doctors Equipped and Ready

  • Prepare the OOH vehicle with essential medical equipment and supplies
  • Carry out simple vehicle checks to ensure safety and reliability
  • Transport medical equipment using a trolley and keep the car organised so clinicians can access items quickly
  • Support with moving equipment to and from storage areas

Support the Clinician Throughout the Shift

  • Stay available to help the doctor during and between visits
  • Act as a chaperone during home visits when requested, supporting patient safety and providing an additional reassuring presence
  • Help carry equipment to and from the vehicle when needed
Why This Role Matters

Working in out-of-hours care means every shift is different. You may be helping a doctor reach a patient in distress, supporting an elderly person in a rural community, or helping ensure urgent medical equipment is on hand when needed. If you enjoy meaningful work, being part of a committed team, and want a role where no two nights are the same, you’ll thrive here.

Who We’re Looking For

People who are :

  • Calm, reliable, and safety-focused
  • Happy working overnight and weekend shifts
  • Comfortable driving for extended periods
  • Ready to support clinicians delivering face-to-face patient care
  • Motivated by helping others
What We Offer
  • £12.26 hourly rate
  • Enhanced pay for evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Paid travel time between home and your primary dispatch point
  • Access to IC24 operational fleet vehicles
